Starbucks Debuts Whiskey Flavored Coffee

There’s good news for coffee-and-whiskey-lovers. Starbucks just rolled out its first-ever whiskey barrel-aged coffee. The bad news is that there’s no actual booze in it. According to Starbucks’ official website, the new blend is called Starbucks Reserve Whiskey Barrel Aged Sulawesi. It will be available in Seattle for a limited time. The coffee is made from an 800-pound batch of un-roasted coffee beans that are then scooped into empty “American Oak-aged whiskey barrels.” It’s then roasted. The roasting process is what burns off all the alcohol, though the beans still retain the whiskey flavor and aroma.
